How to take care of your vintage jewellery?

Sometimes it’s the smallest details that say the most. Jewellery is made to be worn, and with the right care, your jewellery stay beautiful and wearable for longer. Alongside our vintage designer bags, you can now also discover our jewellery collection.

How to wear your jewellery

Jewellery stays most beautiful when it is part of your look, not your routine. Wearing your jewellery the right way helps extend its lifespan.

  • Put on your jewellery last, after perfume, skincare and hair products have fully absorbed.
  • Avoid contact with water, perfume and cleaning products.
  • Do not wear jewellery while exercising, showering or sleeping.
  • Be mindful during activities where jewellery may bump or rub.
  • Rotate your jewellery regularly so materials can rest and stay beautiful for longer.

Care for daily use

After wearing your jewellery, it’s good to give it a little attention. Gently wiping each piece with a soft, dry cloth helps remove traces of skin oils or cosmetics, keeping the surface beautiful and maintaining its shine.

Storing and keeping your jewellery

Jewellery stays in the best condition when stored separately, in a dry place and away from direct sunlight. This helps prevent scratches, discolouration and oxidation, especially with vintage or gold-plated items that are more sensitive to external influences.

Materials and discolouration in vintage jewellery

Our jewellery is made using materials such as stainless steel, a strong metal that is more resistant to daily wear than many other materials. Combined with vintage elements, such as charms from luxury fashion houses like Chanel and Louis Vuitton, these pieces are given a new life.

These elements were not originally designed to be worn as jewellery. Through wear, skin type and environmental factors, discolouration, patina or light signs of wear may occur. This is a natural process and can be minimised by following the advice in our care guide.

Important to know

Our jewellery is carefully selected, but many pieces have already lived a life before. Through wear, skin type and environmental factors, discolouration, patina or light signs of wear may occur. Pepper Luxury Vintage cannot take responsibility for discolouration or wear that results from use.
